One of our youngest community members, Harley Fisher, recently wrote a book to help fundraise for Ukraine at just 8-years-old.
On Sunday 3rd July, Huddersfield Ukrainian Club hosted a very special book launch party.
One of our youngest community members, Harley Fisher, was thinking about what to do for World Book Day when he decided to write his very own book.
At just eight-years-old, he dedicated 'Fungi Fisher's Pizza Pals' to the people of Ukraine, donating all proceeds to help.
The amazing Ukrainian-themed cupcakes were made by 'Sweet Life by HG'.
Fitting in with the pizza-theme, there were also lots of pizza sweets on offer!
The Grand Total
Across all of the stalls Harley has previously run, and now from his book sales, he has raised over £1,000 to help Ukraine!
A Final Note
"Thank you so much to everybody who sponsored and attended the event. It was a great success, and it’s been so lovely to see all the children (parents and grandparents too) reading the book together!
I’m so proud to be Harley’s mum - he is a little star!”
- Sophia Fisher, Committee Member & Harley's Mum
Further copies of Harley's book will be available to purchase at our Annual Volleyball Competition, on Saturday 9th July.
