For Christmas 2020, we are organising a Christmas shoebox appeal to a learning complex in Ternopil, Ukraine.
The Shoebox Gift Guide
You can donate a shoebox of gifts for a child.
Please do not donate second hand, old, damaged, religious, or war related gifts.
Special notes:
You can include a photo and/or a shorter letter about yourself (in English or Ukrainian).
Clearly mark the shoebox on the outside with the gender and age group of the intended child.
You can wrap your shoebox in Christmas wrapping paper if you like, but we must be able to open it and check the contents for customs regulations.
Below is a list of suggested gifts for a shoebox for each child group:
Drop-off your shoebox
You can drop-off your shoebox at Huddersfield Ukrainian Club. For a COVID safe drop-off, simply drive up to the main entrance and leave your shoebox in the lobby. There will be someone there that will take your shoebox indoors.

Donate money
We prefer if people will donate a shoebox rather than money. However, we understand that not everyone will have the time or are shielding this year. Therefore, we are accepting donations and will create a shoebox on your behalf or use your donation to cover shipping costs.
A shoebox will cost between £15-£20 to create, but please donate whatever you can afford:

Novosilsk Regional Special Educational Complex
Новосільський обласний спеціальний навчально-виховний комплекс
We are sending our shoeboxes to an educational complex. This educational complex is also a boarding school and caters for children with learning difficulties from poor or abusive homes.
The complex is located in Ternopil, Ukraine, in a rural location.
